| The Work The Work is a method of four questions and Turnarounds that you can use to question any thought that causes stress, anger or pain in your life. It is about taking one small thought at a time and investigating its impact in your life. When we are finished with one, we move to the next. This way we get to see our thoughts on paper. It's like taking a picture of our mind and investigating its power in our lives. We only question stressful or painful thoughts, not the happy and peaceful ones. Those we cherish and let them be. If you are new to The Work I will introduce it to you step by step. If you are familiar with it, feel free to start working with the one liners or affirmations in the "One liners" section. There is no right or wrong way to do The Work. It's four questions and a turnaround that you answer as you please. In this site I am sharing it with you with the subject that was most confusing and painful to myself. The way I describe The Work here is my way. How it helped me the most. Let's START! There are two worksheets and one yellow card you can work with while you do The Work. I suggest you first read the three steps, download the worksheets and familiarize yourself with them in order to begin. The Yellow Card The One Belief At A Time Worksheet The Judge-Your-Neighbor-Worksheet It is very important that you print or write down the Yellow Card and the Worksheets. When we do The Work, Katie always suggests we do it in writing and not in our minds. Our minds are sneaky and very used to being RIGHT. Doing The Work mentally may drive us away from the truth. When you write it down, the mind gets printed without being filtered. I divided the process of sharing The Work with you into three steps. You don't have to follow a specific order. Start reading Step One and move along as you feel it suits you best. I suggest you try to give yourself time, kindness and patience when you start doing The Work. It's been a lifetime of carrying this weight, give yourself the space to lose it at your own pace. Let's start Working the Weight! |
